My local Pep Boys in Denver on South Broadway mounted and balanced four new tires and did a four-wheel alignment on my BMW. When the car was returned to me, all of the wheels (BMW Motorsport) had been scratched by the lug bolts (not nuts -- bolts) having been removed by an air gun and allowed to spin as the gun removed each bolt. You'd think one wheel would be scratched and the others not, because the tech -- being unfamiliar with European cars -- might learn not to scratch the remaining three. Nope. He must have not cared enough to learn how not to damage a customer car.

But that's not all!

The rear BMW badge had all of the colored enamel that spells "BMW" removed from it, leaving only a round piece of chrome! My wife noticed this, because it was that obviously different from BEFORE the service.

But that's not all!

The steering wheel wasn't centered after the alignment. AND, the tire pressure monitoring system TPMS (for which I was charged for each wheels sensor to be rebuilt) dash light was now on. Pressed the button on the dash to reset it and it came back on within 5 miles or so. Only, the tires weren't losing pressure.

Back to Pep Boys.

After having the car a day to correct their mistakes, the car was returned to me with -- you guessed it -- an off-center steering wheel and a TPMS light coming on.

Back to Pep Boys.

Car re aligned and steering wheel now centered. TPMS light still coming on after every reset.

In summary:

Car badge vandalized (WTF! Like I wouldn't notice?)

Wheels scratched (all 4)

Three days without transportation (one of which, they did absolutely nothing to the car)

TPMS light stays on

NEVER again will I have any vehicle serviced there for so much as new wiper blades or an oil change. They'd probably break the windshield or forget to put oil back in.
