Called pepboys monday for an estimate on replacing the front pinion seal in my 93 1/2 ton chevy, quoted 101.20, I had an appointment for tire replacement at 2pm 10/24/2012. Got there early, no schedule for my pinion repair, so the service writer says he will get me the estimate and price of part, $6.19, he then gives me an estimate of $858.00 on an original estimate of $624.43, his computer said remove and peplace rear pinion seal 101.20 which would be plus the $6.19 for seal and tax.
And I am a mechanic I just can't do the work anymore because of health. He them added a charge to pull driveshaft, remove pinion nut and flange, all three of these we added to the remove and replace seal, when i got upset he made me wait in parking lot, and wouldn't install my tires, when i went in to retrive my keys he then called the police on me due to the fact I had been lied to.
