On the weekend of 14 April 2012 my 2002 Chev Malibu was towed to PEP BOYS in Destin FL. The car would not crank and start.
The PEP BOYS mechanic said that the car needed a new battery and alternator at a cost of $500 +. I refused the work and cost and had it towed to another facility. The mechanic at the new repair shop determine the security theft system on the car was activated and prevented the car from starting. The security theft system was deactivated by opening both doors and the car started.
The cost was $40 Management at PEP BOYS called, listened to my complaints and were defensive. I believe it was fraud.
