Received an email on April 1, 2018 at 8:50 AM letting me know the order had been shipped. The order was delivered on April 4, at 12:22 PM.
I had a customer that sold a car, and was dropping it off to be detailed on April 4, at 2:30 PM. I opened the shipping box from Pep Boys at 1:45 PM, so I could get the Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher ready to use. Pep Boys shipped 4 - Carrand Contour Tire Wipes, 2 - Meguiar’s Plastic Cleaner / Polish, and 1 - AC Delco Cordless Drill. What? I purchased a Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher, not an AC Delco Cordless Drill! I called Pep Boys, and was on the phone for 30 minutes. I told the Pep Boys customer service rep that I purchased a Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher, and received an AC Delco Cordless Drill. The Pep Boys CSR wanted to know what the model number, and UPC Code is on the AC Delco Cordless Drill. The Pep Boys CSR said the AC Delco Cordless Drill is not in their system. I told the CSR that I have a customer dropping off a car in a few minutes to be detailed, and need the Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher. The CSR apologized, and said they would take care of it. I told the Pep Boys CSR that I’m 6 miles from the Pep Boys warehouse, and asked if I could pick up the Griot’s Garage Randon Orbital Polisher. I was told that I’m not allowed to pick it up from the warehouse. I told the Pep Boys CSR that it’s not my fault Pep Boys shipped the wrong item. I have a customer dropping off a car to be detailed in a few minutes, and need the Polisher. The Pep Boys CSR said they would let the warehouse know the customer purchased a Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher, and was shipped an AC Delco Cordless Drill. I was told they would let the warehouse know that I’m 6 miles from the Pep Boys warehouse, and let them know I’m detailing a car for a customer, and ask them to drop the Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher off at my house. I also emailed Pep Boys Wednesday evening, and never received a response back from Pep Boys! The customer is picking the car up later today, so I desperately need the Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher so I can finish detailing the car. The customer sold the car, and the buyer is driving from St. Louis to pick it up late this evening.

Pep Boys ships the wrong item, then expects the customer to track the returned package and inform them when the item has reached their warehouse.
Pep Boys expects me to arrange FedEx to pick up the AC DELCO DRILL, or to drop the AC DELCO DRILL off at the nearest FedEx location.
I’ve spent 30 minutes on the phone, and over an hour emailing Pep Boys. Pep Boys also expects me to arrange for FedEx to pick up the package, or expects me to drop it off at a FedEx location. Pep Boys expects me to track the return package, and contact them when the package has been delivered to their warehouse. I'm dealing with a very unhappy customer that’s threatening me with legal action. The customer sold the car, and the buyer said they will back out if they can’t pick it up this evening.
Pep Boys shipped the wrong item, and obviously doesn't care!
I purchased a Griot's Garage Polisher for $150.00 and was shipped a $20.00 AC Delco Cordless Drill.
I will be taking legal action against Pep Boys!!!
