i had an oil change on Sept 9th 09. in Allentown.

they said i had a oil plug leaking. they removed drain plug and threads from oil pan are on drain plug. they said there going try to fix it so i could get home, if not I'm going too need a new oil pan. then I told them, my last oil change was in Wilkes Barre.

on March 3rd 09. by Pep Boys, they did not know what to say.

I told them I am going to file a complaint, he said go ahead. what are you going to do...

The comment by BO (and we know how that smells) is quite strange.

Six months for an oil change is not necessarily unreasonable (that's about what I average), and certainly has nothing to do with the treads in the pan being stripped. And just how is it obvious that the OP does a lot of traveling? More importantly, why is that relevant?

The treads in the pan will last a lifetime if not "over-wrenched" by some less than attentive (and less than thoughtful) individual.

Yes - it's their car - and they have a right to be disgruntled that their car was abused. Jada has it right about the damage left behind by some (if not most) quick lube places. Would you be in a good mood if you were changing oil all day? And would you perhaps not feel like paying attention to the torque you were applying to the drain plug?

Anyway BO, you either know nothing about cars and/or you are a plant for Pep Boys.

I really hate workint on cars which come from quick lube places like jiffy *** even wally world cuz drain plugs being over tightend, which will result in drain plugs being stripped. Now once in a while it can be fixed but chances are your going to need a new pan
