Pep Boys in Boca Raton, Florida - Not happy

Went in with coupon for oil change and tire rotation. After one and half hour they brought the car in.I watch all the work being done and when he started to rotate the tires he stopped and didn't.t rotate them.I asked why and they said they could because the front tires are worn and there policy says they can not do it.I was always told you always want the better tires up front and he argue with that was wrong, also in this coupon there was a 27 inspection which was never was done and washer left it empty. Then I left to another shop to rotate my tires, and they show me my brakes where very low and my trans fluid burnt which I had it done.Just because you go with a coupon they think you are ***,well I will never go back to a Pep BOYS Again, plus they lost a sell.Beware consumers

Pep Boys in Jacksonville, Florida - Sent me home with loose lugnuts

tire was plugged by pepboys two weeks age. tire was making racket like it had a broken steele belt. a thumping over 40 mph. i went to them and they said nothing wrong with tire, after taking it for a ride they said they could not diagnose it without new wheel berings for $ 338.17. i had an appointment and had to go. got home and checked the lugnuts, they were loose. I tightened them up, no noise. problem one:they could not have missed the loose nuts, when they shook the tire to demonstrate the loose berings, i pointed out the loose nuts. they denied it, did not check it. problem two: they sent me to drive home on a loose tire that could have sheared off. problem three: pepboys cares more about money than safty.

While my car was in for a tire rotation pep boys in Moreno Valley CA scratched my driver side rear bumper. The tech advised me that he would refer the claim to "corporate" , in addition the tech also advised me that I needed new struts and my tires were cupping. Not...

POOR SEVICE AT PEP BOYS

I got a oil filter and Lube Job my coolant was low, axle squeeks from not being lubricated as it should of been, washer fluid was empty, no levels were checked as they should of been. Really disappointed they charged me $42.00 for services didn't top off any levels or lubed chassey. I coulf of done myself for 25 bucks and drained oil myself. I won't go back to the pep boys in berlin CT. The staff was less than desirable they really didn't want to listen to it. That's fine I am no longer a customer!-John Scannell of New Britain Ct

Pep Boys in Buffalo, New York - PEPBOYS is a ripoff!

I dropped my car for wheel alignment, after 1 hour the guy told me that they could not align the front wheel since the tie rod is bad and asked for 350 to fix it, I said no, But he still charged my 70 dollors for the alignment that they actually could not do on my car. I told him why I shall pay for the service that I did not receive, and he said well, we have tried! I did not want to argue with him and paid him the money, but I will make sure that I never go there again!

Say No to Pep Boys

I took my car to Pep Boys in Montgomery across from the mail. It had stopped running and I thought it might be the fuel pump. After getting home with the van I called for a tow to the Big Ten/Pep Boys place. I began searching for fuel pumps and what would be a fair charge to replace it. I found the fuel pump for a little over 200 dollars available right next door to the shop. Sure enough, I get a call from Pep Boys telling me the fuel pump had gone out. I asked for a summary of what it would cost to replace it. I was shocked and then pissed when he told me 400 for the fuel pump, 350.00 for the labor, 90.00 dollars for the diagnostic and 40.00 for the towing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nearly one thousand dollars! When questioned about the huge price difference I asked him if they marked up parts he said yes. I said by what 300 percent ?! He said no 150.00... they have to make money somehow he said. He told me rather unhappily I could purchase the part myself but they would not warranty the part (well duh) but the labor they would. I ended up getting the part for 82.00. After they got it all in they tried to tell me the fuel filter needed to be replaced which would be an additional 47.00 dollars. He became argumentative when I said no.. what they did not know is prior to picking up my van my husband put a brand new fuel filter in... the van never cranked up or ran after he replaced it. How the *** could it be bad if they a) never cranked it up but instead put it on a diagnostic machine? I went to pick up my van and they had tacked on another 53.00 for wiring the fuel pump which I had no idea about. Eventually after much *** and threatening I got a full refund for the 53.00 plus a free oil change. But the damage was done. Businesses that practice in this manner are unethical and doomed for failure. They are concerned with making money no matter whose pockets they have to rob and Pep Boys is crooked. They picked the wrong woman to try and pull some unnecessary and outrageous mechanic work on. I will never ever use Pep Boys again. If you want a good descent mechanic in Montgomery please call Sherman over on Black Shear Road. The towing was the only thing that kept me from saying to *** with Pep Boys. With a delphi fuel pump Sherman quoted me HALF of what I paid at pep boys with the fuel filter replacement. NO PEP BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pep Boys is not Peppy

I went to a Pep Boys service center, in Lombard Illinois on Roosevelt road, to get my 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van's brakes work on. I had gone to get them serviced before and they did a decent job, even when they miscalabrated my new tires in the past but fixed that problem. They claim my brakes that I had done earlier were not covered under their lifetime warranty(they were) and I had to produce the paperwork on them, which I had. They replaced the other brakes and fixed the older ones but they came back with a list of other items that my van needed fix, without showing me. I left but within a day, the brakes were acting up, along with no a/c in the van. I took it in again and a day later, they were squeaking again. I took it to another Pep Boys, in Willowbrook Ilinois on Kingery Highway(Route 83) and I sat once again and several days later, same problem, not to mention the windshield washer fluid line was pinched under the air filter they installed during the brakework/ oil change. I did finally get it fixed at Firestone, in Bolingrook Illinois. A/c is still not working, even afgter they allegedly put freon in it, offering no other help.

Pep Boys in Los Angeles, California - Didn't fix car correctly or on time

I dropped my Jeep off for a water pump replacement in the morning only because the Service Manager said it would be done by 6PM the same day. The car was not over heating or leaking, it was for preventative maintenance. The car was not ready as promised. A different Service Manager said they would compensate me for my trouble. The car wasn't ready until the next day 6PM. It took them two days to change a water pump, no compensation when I picked it up and now the car runs hotter and vibrates. Don't use Pep Boy's Service!

Pep Boys

The Pep Boys in San Antonio, Texas on Walzam Blvd are the WORST!! Not only will you wait for hours...they will also try to charge you for work you haven't had done. I recently had the worst experience with them and WILL NEVER go to Pep Boys again. They were so rude to me they almost made me cry, not only that they expected me to pay the full bill for my car when it was still running exactly the same as when I brought it to them. They actually tried to charge me for a diagnostic test (89.99) and while on the phone complaining about it, the guy actually said to someone else...I never did this test on that car so does she still have to pay for it? Are you kidding me? You're outright admitting you didn't do the work and still expecting me to pay for it? BEWARE OF PEP BOYS ON WALZAM BLVD in San Antonio unless you want to get ripped off and treated horribly.
