Pep Boys - Complete incompetence

I went in to get my car fixed after it broke down. They said it was a few belts needed replaced and would be ready by the following day because their technicians left. I went in the next morning and waited 2 1/2 hours and they never said a thing to me. Finally a guy was going around asking what people were waiting for. I said my car and they left, the guy came back pulled me to the back and told me they need a piece that broke in the engine. They never said a thing to me until 2 1/2 hours later? So I left then they told me they would call me when they found the part. I called back and they said it wouldn't be until the next day to get my car. I called in the next day and they said that they ordered the wrong part. I told them I only wanted a few things done because I was short on money and some of the stuff they needed to do wasn't as important. So they told me they wouldn't do everything. I go in hours later and they told me they did everything to my car. When they handed my keys back I noticed the fob wasn't attached to my keys anymore so I complained about that. The guy didn't care at all and said I never turned them in with the keys. That is *** because without that I can't get into my car. They key doesn't work to unlock the car. Also before I got my key they didn't know where my paperwork was and they spent several minutes looking for it. About 4 people handled my keys from the time I turned my car in to pickup and the guy called one guy and he said I didn't turn in the fob with the keys. I am so pissed because now I can't lock my car until I BUY a new fob... The whole time the people were blaming me. I guess customers arent always right with pepboys.

Pep Boys in Las Vegas, Nevada - Question about registration

I received my card and tried to register with Golvebox. After entering the information it comes back that the "VCalues entered do not match our account records" How do I find out what your records contain so I can correct them. I went to my local store and they tried to assist but they could not. This really is not worth one hundred words required to submit and my time is not free. But, I will give you the one hundred words required, however I only really need to have someone tell me what is in the accout records to corect them.

Mr Ramirez, I had the displeasure of meeting with one your employees this morning. I had to drop off some packages at the post office next to your shop and wanted to use the restroom as I am on diuretics and 68 years old. I understand that you can not allow indigents...

Pep Boys in Lafayette, Indiana - Poor customer service

It is my third time coming back for getting the oxygen sensors fixed. It is the second time they are replacing the same sensor in a week. They don't carry the type of sensor compatible with my truck; they gave me the specific identifier part number and I got it from a local auto part supplier. I had to wait one week for the part to arrive. It took pep boys around three hours to put it in. After an hour the check engine lit up again and the truck began behaving like it does before the replacement. I went back to pep boys for check up, imagine I paid for diagnosis, part and two hours labor. They asked me to come back the next day to just look into the vehicle and let me know what went wrong. i did come as per their request, the next day. After another diagnosis that took them almost two hours they told me the sensor they put in was faulty. I want them fix the problem, this time with their parts. I set an appointment for the next day 1pm, I got there in time, they told me it takes another hour before they pull it in even though I came with an appointment. I couldn't afford wasting one extra hour and agreed to come back the next day at the same time. I did show up 10 minutes early, but they told me it takes about 2 hours to pull in. I was almost frustrated and asked for the same day 4pm, I got it. I brought my vehicle sharp on time, the manager assured me it only take utmost 2 hours to complete the service; I nodded and dropped my key and went on shopping. When I came back after 2 hours my truck want moved from where I parked it. I wondered what is going on and approached one of the clerks by the counter, he told me they are yet to pull it in and the work takes atleast two hours. I was mad, frustrated and felt mistreated. I value 4 hours of my time, I made several trips to this shop, I lost money on the first service. Hence, their service is appalling, disrespectful and had no value for customers time. This will be the last time pep boys see my truck.

Pep Boys in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Charged me for the wrong item,,,

On Dec 22, 2012 I placed a web order for ventvisors for an 2000 Isuzu Trooper, on Dec 24, 2012 I received an email notice that my item was ready for pickup. I went to the store (Norfolk location, Military Highway) and signed for my order. When I opened the box, the items were for an Acura Coup. I went back into the store and was told that they would return the item and then over-night the correct item from Annapolis Maryland. Friday Dec 28th I stopped in the store thinking surely it would be in. No, it was not. The store personnel told me that it was in rout via UPS, okay, I can live with that. BUT, when I called the store today and spoke to a different Rep, I was told that it had been ordered from the Hampton store, but they were out,,and that they could overnight it from Annapolis Maryland,,again! OK so they have my money already, but now I am being given the run around by the store. One person says it is in route, the other says it needs to be ordered, hmm. I called customer service today and they are suppose to call me back, TODAY, with information regarding the details of the delay. For some reason, I feel that they will not do anything to get me my order and will keep my money. Monday the 29th Dec I will stop in the store again. If it is not resolved, I will assume that I am at a loss for $57.74. I would advise anyone going to this store to avoid placing an order, especially if they give the "We can order it from Annapolis Distribution Center" line.
