Pep Boys SUCK!

I called customer service. The agent who spoke with me specifically said she was not allowed to comment on my situation... that she couldn't help me with my situation, that she couldn't look up my details... So, why is she there again? I asked for the supervisor. She said the supervisor wasn't available WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING to see if he/she was. When I mentioned this to her, she said the supervisor was never available. Well, I'm hearing impaired so I don't pick up the phone. I asked her to take my email or mailing address so we could take care of my issue. Big surprise: Pep Boys refuses to mail or email anyone. so, if you are DEAF, forget about them trying to communicate in ANY WAY besides the telephone. Some help - not! Every company I've ever contacted has been willing to work with my situation but Not Pep Boys! I WILL NEVER EVERY GO TO ANOTHER PEP BOYS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!

Tire rebate

bought 4 tires from pepboys 5 weeks ago, sent in the rebate next day still havent recieved my 120.00 dollor rebate. why do it take so long, i need my money, i wont my money. give me my money. next time ill get my tires from some one else, yes i would like to get my rebate in the store, i dont understand why it takes so long to process when i had the proper paper work and the reciept. i ask the man in the store how long it would take and he told me two weeks, lier, lier, pants on fire.

Still waiting for Black Friday rebates from Peak/PepBoys

Got a bunch if stuff at PepBoys and sent in the rebate forms. I have had great results with rebates from PepBoys in the past.

These rebates were from Peak products, anti-freeze, inverters, spotlights and jump packs. Got the antifreeze rebate already and the Castrol oil but nothing yet on any of the others. All rebates were sent on time and I have copies of all.

What a pain in the *** it is trying to get the rebate from Peak. I would buy from PepBoys if the rebates came from them but doubt I will if it comes from Peak.

Bill, we have the same case.. bought 5 power inverters, submitted 3 rebate forms (prepared by the cashier), but only two (1 rebate form) was paid.

I called customer relations maybe 3 or 4 times to explain what happened. Customer Relations was not able to help. I requested them to escalate the issue to next level management.

After a week (after escalation of the issue to next level management), I got a refund of the 3 power inverters. Hope you'll get your refund too.

I bought five (5) of the Peak 100 Watt Power Inverters, expecting to get a rebate for each. The cashier gave me three manufacturer's rebate slips for the Peak Power Inverters.

Each of these rebate slips said that they could be used to request a rebate for a maximum of two (2) each. The cashier reaffirmed that the limit was five (5) as stated in their ad and told me that's why she gave me three rebate slips for this product. I submitted all three slips, but have just received a check from Peak for only two (2) units. I called Peak and was told that the limit is two (2) rebates per individual on that product.

I was told that I would have to ask Pep Boys why they said in their ad that there was a limit of five (5) on that item. When I went back to the store, I was told they don't know why the ad said there was a limit of five (5) on that item as there is a limit of two (2) as it says on the rebate slip. I was told that the ad may have been a misprint and that I needed to ask the Pep Boys corporate office about this as the ad is put together at the corporate office.

I called Pep Boys Customer Relations (800-737-****) and opened a case. They said someone will get back to me.

If you don't get your Peak rebate, complain to the Better Business Bureau in the city where Pep Boys is headquartered.

Also, take the Peak inverter back to the store for a refund. *** at the manager if they don't comply with your refund request.

I submitted a $25 rebate in November, but still have not received my Peak 400 Watt TG Power Inverter rebate. Instead, I received a post card, saying "The sales receipt submitted did not demonstrate purchase of the product required for the rebate."

I have copies of the receipt and rebate form.

The receipt can't get any more clear -- the rebate item in question is right there in black and white.

Peak / Pep Boys is jacking with customers by not fulfilling rebates. A Better Business Bureau and online complaints will be forthcoming.

First Time at PEP BOYs Service

I called PEP Boys to get an estimate for my rear brake pads and rotors replacement. They quoted for $192. When I got a call from them after dropped off my car, they told me that my front rotors were missing. I told them this is my first brakes replacement since I bought my new 2009 Honda Accord. How can this happen for all this times. They told me maybe it came from car manufacture like this which I never heard of. When I asked them further, they told me that my front rotors have black dots on them. So appearently they can not make me to replace the front rotors and brake pads. However, they told me that my rear brake pads and rotors replacement is now $215.89. When I went to pick up my car, the price was increasing to $237.95. I guess when they can not make you pay for more repair. They jack up the price. This shop is very dishonest. I would not recommend to anyone to go to this PEP BOYS SHOP.

What load of *** they gave you and you accepted it. Get real and find a good local shop to work with and stay away from Pep Boys and their merry band of crooks.

The most sorry company in customer service i have ever seen.They laugh and make fun of customers that come into there stores. Yes by 4 tire and get one free is a big rip off after the rebate you have to buy road hazzard mounting and balancing valve stems all over priced and you dont get your rebate unless your lucky. oil prices so much higher than advance autozone ans most of the items in stores are way overpriced.The store in Greenville sc is a pig pen and the pep express department makes fyun of all there commercial accounts and sends out higher prices on parts, hour rate in shop is the same as dealer prices why would you pay them when they dont have the knowledge ofa dealer

How much do you get paid for your services? Why is it when people have a problem with a store they want to blame the employees?

The employees do NOT set the prices or labor rates. That would be Mike O'Dell CEO! Email him about pricing and how the stores look!

Buy thing for the value at hand and stop shopping for cheap or gimmicks or come-ons!If money is tight shop shop shop look at everything that is on the table. When you attacking what is at hand it show that you are poorly educated

I went in for a four wheel alignment and its still not right.

I dropped the car off and an hour and half later I went and picked it up. As I was driving home I noticed my steering wheel was not centered and the car was pulling to the left. About 3 years ago this same Pep boys in Bear De did an alignment on another car I had and they messed that one up too. Pep boys doesn't know what good work is or how to do it. I'm always having an issue with there work. Another time they never called me to pick my car up, I go up to the store to get it and the doors were locked, it's closed and I had work the next morning. Luckily the manager opened the door for me to check me out. Then he comes back and tells me my keys are lost. It took him another 20 minutes to find my key and check me out. Pep boys sucks. They need to stick too selling car parts and nothing else.

PepBoys passing the buck on rebates...

PepBoys lured customers into their stores on Black Friday (11/25/2011) with an ad offering FREE merchandise. One of the advertised FREE items was a "Peak 100 Watt Power Inverter." The PepBoys ad for this item said this was "FREE after $20 mfg. mail-in rebate - Limit 5." The cashier handed me three mfg. rebate slips, each with a limit of two, and reaffirmed when asked that the rebate limit for this item was five. Several months later, I received a check for only two items. PepBoys Rebate Fulfillment Processing Center (888-829-****) said I needed to call the manufacturer, Peak, as they issue the rebates on this item. Peak's rebate processing center (866-538-****) told me they only honor a limit of two rebates per invidual on this item. They could not explain why PepBoys advertised, and told me, that there was a limit of five, and referred me back to PepBoys. I called PepBoys Customer Relations dept. (800-737-****) and opened a case. Waiting for someone to get back to me. Meanwhile, I'm out $60.

Replacement of fuel pump on wife's car was the wrong type for car

On 2/24/2011,I went in to have a fuel pump replaced on my wife's 2002 Ford Taraus,After this service 2 days later the gas cap light came on,so I went back for them to explain this new problem,I was told the forgot to have their computer tell my wife's car's computer the pump was new.The light went away for about a week,then the check engine light came on again,I had to wait this time to take it back,Recently I have taken my wife's car to a different company to see what they could tell me the problem was,They told me that Pepboy's put in the wrong pressure fuel pump for my wife's type of car,so when I called Pepboy's they told me to bring in the new mechanic's paperwork to prove it very rudely....

It's not hard and very inexpensive.

Instead you threw your poor haggard wife to the lions at the mechanic shop. Poor woman.

Pep Boys....They called it a "Coincidence"

Took my car in this past Saturday to Pep Boys for a routine oil change and break inspection. Waiting a couple hours which was fine with me since I walked to the restaurant beside it and grabbed a *** to eat. I walked back down later and then waited some more in their store's customer lounge. The tech came out and said that the air filter was real dirty and needed replaced. I said go ahead and change it too. All in all it was $61. and change. Immediately after leaving I noticed that the car idled very high, much higher than normal. I first thought it was due to the new air filter. I took it back two days later after the engine light came on. They did a "courtesy" check for a the code, and the guy said well I'd like to get a "master" tech to look at it but can't be till Friday. I said fine. Well I just left and the guy smiled and said well you had a busted vacuum line. We went ahead and replaced it, and I didn't charge you anything to replace the hose. I was thinking GREAT. He handed me my key to me and said it would be $106.00 I said for what, and he said that it was for diagnostics. I was ticked. Car was idling fine till your guy replaced the filter!!! He said it was a coincidence...Yeah Right! Rip offs, won't be going back.

DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS!

These guys are horrible. I needed new tires, I shopped around & Pep Boys offered a good deal. Customer service seemed ok over the phone...I dropped my car off, they call me a few hours later saying the tires are finished, but inform me there's a problem with my clutch. I told them my car was completely fine when I had dropped it off, no sign at all of clutch problems or anything. They tell me its the beginning stages of clutch failure. I pick up the car, it's running horribly, I can barely shift or even get it into gear. Pep Boys already had a quote for a clutch ready when I came to get the car. I work at a car dealership, I had our mechanics look at it, I also took it to a good & trustworthy shop that specializes in Acura's. They took out the transmission, & assessed the problem...they told me someone definitely beat on my clutch, and had to of been dumping and thrashing it to cause the problem. The springs apparently were ruined, and now I need a whole new clutch, costing me over $1300. I never recall a time driving my car improperly to cause this problem. These guys are dishonest & unethical. Think twice before getting tires & a lousy rebate at Pep Boys.

Pep Boys Bad Customer Service

Service technician Jose Ordenez had horrible customer service. Complained that he did not want to work on my car, and gave me 'lip' about putting it back together after he took it apart. I am not keen about anyone talking crazy to me that works in a customer service atmosphere. In addition, I believe an automotive service should be customer service friendly to help instill confidence that the work is getting done, or at least to assure you that you have not been forgotten in the waiting area. NOTE: I waited in the waiting area for two hours while they removed a belt, and put the same belt back on... Hmm... Two hours?! Really? PEP Boys on Crenshaw Blvd, in Los Angeles, CA 90008

Worthless Warrantys from pep boys = pep gard

Pepgard practices one of the original tricks for warranties: to bomb-art you with excuses why they are not liable to pay for the coverage of the bill by any means .. They frustrate/*** you off so much to get you to the point you want to give up which is what they are aiming for.

THIS WARRANTY WITH PEPBOYS SUCKS BY ALL MEANS STAY AWAY....who wouldn't know that the internal engine drive belt is not a part of the engine. Do not count on ever getting reimbursed, anything fixed or for them to come out of pocket it is a fight to the end.

There is no such thing as an internal engine drive belt. All drive belts are external to the engine.

The timing belt and/or chain can sometimes be located behind a firewall, but even that is not "inside" an engine.

Things bolted and mounted to an engine, commonly known as a "block", are "accessories." For instance; when you purchase a new engine - you get the block only, no belts, no clutch, no water pump, NOTHING comes on it.

Having said that; I'm sure they didn't explain that to you when they were selling you the plan. Which sucks and is wrong, but not illegal since it was written in the contract.

Ten yrs. customer ***

I've been taking my car back in forth to Pepboys, for engine light problem, they a have told me so many different stories regarding this problem and I HAVE REPLACE SO MANY PARTS, AND PAID THEM STRAIGHT UP! just recently i found out by another mechanic that one major part that was suppose to be replace was never REPLACE AND THE JOB COST ME $$$$$$, SO i confronted customer service with it and they did'nt want to admitted but they replace the part in question. They are LIAR'S AND GAGERS NOT TO BE TRUSTED EVER!!!!!!!! I WONDER IF ANY OF MY OTHER PARTS WERE REPLACE, LITTLE THEY KNPW THAT I'M ON TO THEM NOW THE JOKE'S ON THEM.

Pep Boys Nacogdoches Road San Antonio TX

I brought my 2004 Lincoln Aviator and my wife's 2005 Jaguar S-type for to this location for service. I requested to have my wheels rotated and balanced. The service associate Earl then asked me, "For what?" I then explained that my wheels were aftermarket and they replace some broken studs and my hub assembly 2 months prior and this is in preparation for a road trip. He was very rude and offensive to my wife and I. I then asked to speak with Tobin or the general manager! He replied by saying, "They don't know what the *** they are doing and I'm their replacement." I took my vehicles to Firestone and they were serviced without incident. I am severely disappointed with the level of unprofessionalism Earl displayed. I can look pass the mouth full of gold teeth and the gum smacking while he was talking to us however, that is not the proper way to treat loyal paying customers.

Went for a simple oil change!!!!!

I went to pepboys for an oil change, one week later my oil light comes on!, come to find out who ever changed my oil broke the dipstick tube and the only thing holding stick in place was the stick itself !!!,when i took it back no[one wants to own up to it(of course) now it is going to cost me (3) times as much to get that fixed, it cost me a days work, i have to rent a car, until it is fixed. I will tell anyone who will listen don't take your car to pepboys if you want it to keep it on the road, they will mess your car up bad and possibly kill somebody, i don't intend to let this be the end of it I am going to talk to the BBB, the corp. office and possibly the news!!!!!!!

Change your own oil. $10 for oil, $5 filter, $5 air filter, and BAM, done. It takes about 5 mins.
