Pep Boys on Military Highway in Norfolk is the worst. I took my car in for simple brake pads and resurfacing of rotors. They quoted me $517! Are you crazy? I googled brake service and repair in Norfolk and got a number for Big ALS less than 2 miles away. They quoted me $298. I took my car back and went to Big ALS. Less than 2 hours after getting the ridiculous quote from Nehcole at Pep Boys, I am riding around $219 richer and a whole lot safer.... Read more

It is the Bosch Battery that is at fault and not the consumer. I have a 2006 Hummer H2 that has had 6 Bosch batteries since the original battery died in 2013. The Bosch batteries seem to have a very short service life by design. I say that because all 6 replacement batteries have lasted 6 months. The electrical system in the vehicle is operating as expected with no excessive current draw after all courtesy lights extinguish upon exit. I... Read more

had my vw bug towed to PepBoys Oceanside (Plaza) for a broken heater hose connector after they replaced it said the car was over heating, strange because I had a new radiator with hoses installed 30 days ago, they came back and admitted three times that they miss diagnosed the problem and would take care of it no charge this was said by two managers and one store manager. 6 weeks later I pick up my car some how the battery was completely dead so... Took the vehicle in to have the wiper sprayers replaced, brake lines bled and the trunk latch button repaired. They ended up telling me it was a master cylinder. It was not, I've bled the lines in this car before. Either way, I agreed to the replacement because it was $119, and I thought of it as preventive maintenance. A day later they call me and tell me the part they have doesn't work, so it's going to be $200 more . Come to find out, as per... Read more

I took a garage-kept 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis in for new tires to the store on Mercury Blvd in Hampton, Virginia. Pep Boys did a front end alignment, wheel balance, new valve stems, and installed new tires. I drove the car home after service. As I looked the car over I noticed the wheel cover was barely on. Upon further inspection I determined that the wheel was bent. I drove back to Pep Boys to complain only to be yelled at in a... Read more

Had a good idea of what was wrong with my 2002 Toyota Camry suspension. Thumping noise rear passenger side. Common problem on Camry caused by sway bar bushings going bad. Talked with the service advisor about it. Pep Boys did a courtesy check and found what the mechanic said was the problem. $420.00 and a half-hour later, I still had the same problem. Charged me $125.00 each (2 installed) for parts which I called another Pep Boys store about,... Read more

I went to Pep Boys in Mechanicsburg Pa to buy fuel injector cleaner and I guess they didn't want my money because I stood at the front register for what seemed like forever with no cashier in sight. I watched as employees walked by me and acted like I wasn't even there. Finally I yelled over to the lady at the shop counter to see if my register was opened and she acted bothered by me asking and then said someone should be there shortly. Needless... Read more

Ordered some needed parts with one day shipping and it took five days to receive it, and never even got the processing email. I emailed customer service and never got a reply. A little pissed that I paid extra for nothing, with no response.
