Pep Boys in Meriden, Connecticut - Not doing job correctly

My Jeep was brought to Pepboys in Rhode Island on 7/38 because it was overheating. I picked it up on 7/29 and got about 2 miles down the road and lo and behold it overheated again. I had it towed back to Pepboys, I picked it up on 7/30 and surprise it overheated again just before I pulled in my driveway. Now they want me to have it towed (again) to them. They won't pay for the tow even though it is there incompetence that it is still overheating. To say the least I am pissed off.

Pep Boys capital on ignorance

I received a mailing from Pep Boys announcing a new service only location just a few blocks from my house. The lure was a $20.00 oil change after the mail in rebate. The person taking care of me seemed nice and professional. After the service was completed, he showed me the battery and said that it was leaking and urgently needed replacement. He quoted a price of $80.00 including installation. That struck me as a little high, and decided to do more research the following day. I removed the battery the next morning, and took it to Autozone. The man there tested the battery and said the only thing wrong with it was that it needed cleaning. He said he could sell me a battery if I wanted to waste my money. Some water and baking soda later, my battery is fine, Autozone has a new customer, and Pep Boys has lost one.

Pep Boys in Richmond Hill, Georgia - A Very pissed off customer!!!

I took my car into Pep Boys and, instead of fixing the problem that I took it there for, they fixed other problems that I didn't ask them to fix. $1700+ later! When I picked my car up,I was calling them back less than an hour later to let them know that the problem is still there! I was told to bring the car in. Upon doing so, I was given an estimate of another $1200 to fix the *** problem in which I initially took it there for in the 1st place! I was excited to take the car to Pep Boys in the beginning but, never again! Unless they complete the job that they never did fix. For free! I am pissed. Who do I get to correct this?

Pep Boys - Wish Manny, Moe and Jack Still Worked There

My brother spent a lot of money at Pep Boys in CA and received no real resolution to the problems. The PB people simply just threw parts at the vehicle and never fixed it. They solved nothing and gave him a bill for a couple of thousand dollars. Please look into who is working on your vehicle. They seemed seedy and did not care to fix the problem but simply bill for whatever they did. I have worked with Firestone on my own vehicle and they did not fix it originally but made things right in the end. Big difference compared with my brothers experience. I understand that mechanics sometimes make mistakes. That's fine. Just make it right and respect your customers. Pep Boys failed big time here.

Pep Boys in Mesa, Arizona - No help

Went into store and employees were to busy talking to each other and did not care about helping the customers. Asked about a part and they said not in stock. Not no help as to ordering it or if a different store could help me with it. I will NOT go back to PeP Boys again. There are alot of other auto part stores that want our business and in times of this they should do everything posiable to earn our business. This could be one of the reasons the Pep Boy stores are not doing well. This happened on July 3rd in Mesa Az. the store on main st.

Pep Boys in Los Angeles, California - PepBoys, service dud or stud?

I am a PepBoys Service Advisor/Manager with years of experience with this & other well known competitors. I have seen all types of service advisors, some bad but most have been as honest, decent & hard working as I. Contrary to what others believe PBYs is not going under, nor can they really be considered "bottom feeders" when you take into account its size & many years of service. You don't survive this long botching oil changes & ripping off customers on a regular basis trust me. Do we have some bad apples? Sure we do but its not because we look to steal your money. In a company of this size it takes time & a lot of money to develop, train, & *** out a poor team member as needed. I go through this long list of negative reviews not because I have nothing better to do, but because I want to know whats going on throughout this & other similar companies. What did that service advisor or manager do to make this a negative experience for you? How can we make it a positive one? Did he offer you fritos ;)? No trainer or computer learning module can really tell it like you do & that's why I am here. Unlike the Circuit Citys of the world PepBoys has had the opportunity to change the course of its future more than once in order to keep those many people employed across the country. It all starts with you the customer and striving to achieve that fast, expert service that brings you back for more. By the way on a more personal note... When you do go back, just remember that we are human & things can go wrong regardless of where you shop.

Pep Boys in Austin, Texas - Incompetant Staff & Liars

I had purchased a set of tires from Pep Boys in Austin (S. Lamar store) and i was watching the tire guy drive my truck into the stall. He started raising the truck off the ground without properly setting the lift, and it crushed both rocker panels flat..I ran to the service advisor and pointed it out, and he ran out into the shop and told the tire guy to lower my truck back down and re-set the hoist..Then came back inside and told me that the rocker panels had been damaged from previous repairs elsewhere..I told him that was a lie...To make a long story short, I had my attorney contact Pep Boys corporate office, and they finally agreed to pay for the body damage $1670.00 , So since they employ incompetant people..I will never go there again
