Pep Boys Axle Repair Review
I bought a used 1999 Honda Accord and while driving in a rush to get home on a stormy night, hydroplaned into a highway median and ended up bending my axel inwards pretty badly. Now I stressed that I bought the car USED and therefore, it was not in perfect condition from the start, but I could get from point A to point B safely everyday.
I had my car towed to a local Pep Boys to assess the damage and give me a gross estimate of the bill. It turns out, they took apart most of my car and wanted to bill me for fixing things I did NOT ask to be serviced on! They wanted me to have 4 new tires installed, and have a complete brake system replacement which I did NOT want! I asked them to just fix the bent axel and they refused me up and down saying that they really "recommended" I get the other issues fixed, even though I told them that I could not in any way afford to get them all right away!
I'm a student working a part time job and it's ridiculous that i can't just get serviced on what I needed to be able to drive the car the way I did before. It isn't fair at all and this has forever turned me off to coming to any Pep Boys shop ever again.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
